This image gives an idea of the true scale of destruction caused on September 11th when the entire area in the center of the picture would have been dominated by the World Trade Center towers

Left: The Trump Tower in New York City, owned by tycoon Donald Trump. Right: The exterior of the building made famous as the location of the apartment block in the longstanding American television show "Friends".

Looking south from the 86th floor of the Empire State Building in New York City. The entire southern section of Manhattan is visible, as well as views out towards the other boroughs. The Statue of Liberty is just visible to the very right hand side of the picture around half way up.

Looking down from atop the Empire State Building towering over other skyscrapers, and making cars on the streets below look miniscule.

Looking out from the top of the Empire State Building at other high-rise buildings all around

Macy's - which describes itself as the World's Largest Store

Left: Ice skating on a frozen lake in Central Park during February. Right: The New York stock exchange building in the Wall Street area of the city
